The Arabesque dress

As a child, the Angelina Ballerina bug bit me hard.

Before she was a giant franchise and TV show, she was a simple children’s book with delightful illustrations that captivated little girls who loved dancing.

Leaping through gardens of posies and bluebells. Pastel tutus and slippers and bows in my hair. Curtains and stage lights and elegant arabesques. I wanted it all.

The Arabesque dress is what Angelina would wear all grown up, still a little inclined to rond de jambe around the living room, prance through the park, and arabesque while pushing the grocery cart through the parking lot. It’s light, springy, pastel perfection in a dress, adorned with pale blue flowers on ivory knit, or rendered in the softest black jersey. (We’ve also got a very limited edition in hot house floral on black.) The faux wrap crosses in front and back, the cap sleeves and waist are finished with little gathers, and the skirt dips in a graceful, fold-over tulip hem. Bodice and skirt back lined in softest rayon jersey. Turns everything into a balletic fairytale.
